THE DOS AND DON’TS OF SOCIAL MEDIA
No, you’re not crazy. Growing your platform IS harder than it used to be! That’s true.
However, realness, authenticity and connection still win.

It’s so easy to want to get caught up in the trends and letting what other people might think dictate your account and the content you create, but that’s a quick way to get nowhere.
I didn’t need any expensive photoshoots, photoshop, lies, bots, people-pleasing or my ego and fear to guide me to build the account I have today.
So what should you do? I’m gonna tell you - let’s get into it.
Here are the do’s and don’ts of creating content on social media!
The Don’ts:
❌ Don’t try to do what other people are doing!
What works for other people might not work for you! You shouldn’t base what you do with your account on what other accounts are doing.
That is not reliable!
It’s okay to pull inspiration from people but you should never blindly follow other’s actions.
❌ Don’t look at your following as numbers!
They are people that chose to follow YOU.
Don’t waste your money on potential “Instafame” and the vanity metrics. That doesn’t equate to happiness or success.
Likes and followers can be important but only if they’re genuine people that support and engage with you. The connection with them is the most important.
❌ Don’t be afraid to show up as yourself!
This is YOUR social media platform. You shouldn’t have to lie or fake for people to like you.
This is your space to be yourself. Don’t fake your truth to be liked. You are who you are and you should be proud of it.
Don’t be afraid of losing followers because you chose to be authentic. You’ll attract the right people and repel the wrong ones - that’s the best thing you could ask for!
The Do’s:
✅ Start creating content that makes YOU happy!
Don’t do what you think people want to see. Be yourself.
Once you start showing up as your authentic self, you’ll attract more of the right kind of audience. Your community. Your tribe.
That’s what you want, so don’t be afraid of posting what you want and being yourself.
✅ Start staying consistent in your content, your message, and your presence!
Keep up with your social media.
You can’t be super active one week and then not active at all the next couple. Show up on your stories and engage with your community.
They should have a good understanding of who you are and what your message is!
✅ Start connecting with the people who support you and like you for YOU!
Start appreciating every single person who is on this journey with you and seeing your “followers” as PEOPLE! Social media is truly a blessing if you use it like that!
There are so many people to connect with in this world. So many friendships, business opportunities and mentorships that can all be made with the power of social media.
Connect with people and start seeing this as a space of connection and opportunity!
It’s easy to get caught up in the trends and the vanity metrics but none of that is as important as being yourself and connecting with others.
If I can do it like that - building my brand and 6 figure biz from being Meagan and hiring help to guide me to truly portray ME, then you can too!
Be yourself first! The rewards from that are way more fruitful.
