When do You Need a Welcome Sequence?

Congratulations! You’ve started your new business, you’ve probably gotten a few clients and you’re wondering about what comes next. 

Let’s talk about your email list for a minute, shall we?

Your email list will be slightly different from your social media accounts for the sole reason that it’s something that you own. You’re not at the mercy of an algorithm or engagement, but rather open and click rates (which are easily viewable in any of the popular email platforms). 

If you’re looking to grow your audience and you feel like you’re ready for the logical next step in your business, the email list is a great place to invest some time and energy. 

It’s important to note though, this timing will be unique to each person’s business and growth. Some people choose to start an email list immediately when they start their business, others wait until later. At the end of the day, it’s totally up to you.

When the time is right your Welcome Sequence will be essential for the start of your list. This gets triggered after people subscribe which could happen in a few different ways: 

  • Signing up for a Freebie which then triggers the email sequence with delivery 
  • Subscribing via a box on your website 
  • Providing subscription criteria when joining your FB group 

So, once you get your subscribers on your list - you want the welcome sequence to go out over the course of the next 1-2 weeks. This will be there to welcome them to your email community, get them hyped about the free value they’ll be receiving by hanging out with you and opening the door to connect on social or something else.

The easiest way to grow your email list is to create a Freebie or a Lead Magnet and then share it with the world - people will naturally want what you’re offering, especially if your audience is already warmed up to you.
